    I'm Italian from Italy and I was looking for acciughe sotto sale from long time, this product is the best in Italy and for a reason, they are fabulous and now I can make all recipes that I have not made in a long time. Thank You Supermarket Italy for this.

    Arriving a day early but not a moment too soon, these Agostino Recca anchovies—and my kudos to the person who bubble-wraps the items for shipping—made their presence known at once. I’d been storing up recipes for the past week or so, and had researched the various and preferred ways of storing anchovies after the can has been opened. (Rolling and freezing seems to be perhaps the best, but I suspect these will not last long enough to worry.) The siren’s song of the tiny Sicilian anchovy is a sound so delicate and enticing, so exquisite, I challenge you to ignore it for more than a minute. So, with plans already afoot for a lovely pasta this evening, I answered the call and made a salad, a simple salad of heirloom tomatoes, sweet white onion, and sweet banana peppers from our Farmers’ Market, plus thinly sliced cucumber and crumbly local cheddar, tossed with lovely olive oil, dill, freshly ground pepper, and a few splashes of red-wine vinegar. After soaking about eight or ten anchovies in filtered water for several minutes, I indelicately yanked out their tiny bony spines, then chopped and tossed them in with the vegetables. It’s been a rainy few days in the hinterlands, but this salad made the sun shine.
