Amarena Fabbri Panettone with Candied Cherries - 2.2 lbs
The Sour Cherry Panettone is the result of the union of two products which are the pride of the Italian confectionery: the delicious panettone and the sparkling quality of Fabbri's sour cherry syrup.
Traditionally served (at Christmas) during the holiday season, this classic Italian panettone features Fabbri's 100 year old recipe for whole semi candied Amarena cherries baked into a buttery delicious cake. The Amarena Fabbri Panettone is baked by Cova Pasticceria. Established in 1817 in Milano, Cova is one of the oldest bakeries in Italy today. They pride themselves on using fresh ingredients along with faithfully following the same recipe dating back to the early 19th century. The Amarena Fabbri Panettone by Cova is an incredibly delicious addition to your holiday. The sour-cherry Panettone, in its vintage wrapping, is the result of the union of two products which are the pride of the Italian confectionery industry: the delicious panettone by "G.Cova & C." and the sparkling quality of Fabbri's sour-cherry syrup. We want to dedicate it to the most curious, sophisticated palates.

OK For Something Different

We typically buy the Fiasconaro Tradizionale pannetone because it is one of the best, but for something different, we decided to try this AMARENA FABBRI PANETTONE WITH CANDIED CHERRIES to mix it up a bit. For the cherry that it is, it is good, but honestly, we enjoy the traditional Fiasconaro way more so. I think you may just get tired of the cherry flavor quickly, having a 2.2 lb loaf to eat. We bought the jar of cherries from this region to go with it, and that was good to change it up on some mornings, but it might be too sweet that way for most tastes. I'd say stick with the traditional pannetone and avoid this cherry one for the size and price. The flavor is just one note of a Italian marasca cherry, and nothing more.
