Tik Tok App With Recipe Ingredients

The social media app TikTok is a playground for foodies! Users post short video recipes, food challenges, and life hacks, many of which turn into viral sensations. Remember 2020 with Dalonga whipped coffee or the jiggly puff pancakes? Those were all from TikTok.

We’re only three months into 2021, but there have already been several big food trends coming from TikTok. You’ll definitely want to try out these five delicious, easy recipes and food hacks in your kitchen!

Feta Pasta

We’ll start with one of the biggest trends of the year and one of TikTok’s most viewed videos of all time: The Feta Pasta Bake.

First published by Finnish food blogger Jenni Häyrinen in 2019, this one pan recipe took the world by storm in February 2021, with local groceries like Harris Teeter reporting 200% increases in sales of feta.

The feta pasta dish lets the oven do most of the work. To start, place a large block of feta cheese at the center of a casserole dish and surround it with cherry tomatoes, olive oil, and salt. Once the cheese has broiled and the tomatoes are bursting, mix in basil, garlic, and short pasta noodles like cavatappi. The result is a creamy, dreamy pasta bake that food bloggers say is actually worth the hype.

Birria Tacos

Birria tacos are a specialty originating from the state of Jalisco in western Mexico. They are traditionally made with goat meat, but beef or pork can easily be substituted. The meat is stewed with dried chilis, onion, and cumin for several hours. The results are fall-apart tender with a smoky, succulent sauce. Fill tortillas with stewed birria meat and top them with diced onion and cilantro for a classic street food preparation. Trying to cut back on carbs? Use Folios Cheese Wraps as the tortilla instead!

Tortilla Fold

Not every TikTok food trend involves a specific recipe; a simple kitchen life hack can go viral too! The tortilla fold is a brilliant way to consume wraps. Instead of rolling all of the ingredients as you would in a burrito, the tortilla fold involves a simple incision from the center down to one end. Then you can stack the tortilla into quarters like a multilayered sandwich.

For an extra delicious food hack, toast the folded tortilla on the grill. It will be like having a Taco Bell Crunchwrap Supreme® right at home!

Homemade Vegan Chicken

Vegetarians and vegans know the struggle of finding a protein that tastes exactly like chicken, and seitan is about as close as it gets. Made with flour and water, seitan is a wheat protein that, when cooked, can be used as a substitute in all kinds of dishes, from tacos to chicken pot pie.

TikTok creator @futurelettuce kicked off the trend with a cooking video recipe showing how to make seitan from scratch. The only ingredients are flour and water, plus a good amount of time. Enjoy making this easy recipe and incorporate more vegetarian food into your diet. The planet will thank you!

Nature’s Cereal

Although many TikTok cooking videos are well-known for being indulgent, over-the-top calorie fests, there are some great trends out there that put a spin on healthy living! “Nature’s Cereal” went viral earlier this year, partially thanks to the highly popular singer Lizzo, who tried out the food trend on Instagram.

The concept is extremely simple: Fill a bowl with your favorite berries, like raspberries, strawberries, and pomegranate seeds. Add coconut water and drop in a few small ice cubes, which provide a crisp, cooling sensation, and you have a gluten-free cereal made with healthy fruits.
